Predictable behaviour in a descender

Sheath construction determines how a rope feeds through a descender, wet, dirty or hot. Ascent's sheath is specified for that first, abrasion second.

Edge protection is not optional

The overwhelming majority of rope-access incidents involve an edge, not a load. High sheath-yarn count buys margin. It does not replace edge management.

Retirement on evidence, not guesswork

Every length carries a date of manufacture and a batch certificate. Inspection runs on documented fact, not on how a rope looks.
